Donna's story
Part 4/4

The Monday before Thanksgiving, Maxine asked Donna to come to her home to
help her study.  Maxine was barely passing her courses and Donna was making
straight A's.  Maxine told her llittle sister Sheryl that they would be going
home and asked Sheryl if she would like to ride home in Donna's car.

Sheryl was a very quiet girl, shy and usually you wouldn't know if she was
around.  She was blonde, with the same big brown eyes as Maxine, and looked
like someone's little sister.  Donna was very surprised when they got in the
car and Sheryl asked her for a cigarette.  She decided to play along and gave
her one.  Maxine about had a fit, but Donna told her to chill out, that this
might be fun.  Donna was more surprised when Sheryl took a deep drag, inhaled
it deeply, exhaled, did not cough or turn green.  It looked like she had been
smoking for quite a while.  What was really funny was when Maxine tried to
imitate her sister's smoking style and got sick, turned green and swore never
to do that again.

Donna had not had much to do with Sheryl before that, mostly ignoring her,
but after that Sheryl and Donna became good friends also, with Donna
supplying Sheryl cigarettes  and sometimes studying together.  Sheryl,
although shy, was very curious about many things and also a good student and
Sheryl began spending a lot of time with Donna, especially when Maxine was
running around on her own.

Donna was an only child and Maxine and Sheryl became like sisters to her.

Donna drove back to the city the first weekend of every month to spend a day
with her grandmother.  Also she spent an afternoon and evening with her
boyfriend John.  They had some kind of agreement that they could date others,
but the first Saturday of the month was reserved for each other.  She
would drive up on Saturday morning and come home Sunday, staying at her
grandmother's house on Saturday night.

Maxine fixed up Donna with several dates, but Donna did not find anyone whom
she cared for as she did John.  First, none of the friends Maxine introduced
her to smoked, and most chewed tobacco.  Even though Donna chewed on
occasions, she could not imagine kissing a guy who had a wad of tobacco in
his mouth.

One day after school when Sheryl and Donna were walking to Donna's car, one
of Sheryl's classmates, Patti, came runnilng up to them and asked if she
could get a ride.  Sheryl didn't know Patti well as she had just moved in
recently.  Donna told Patti, "Sure, get in."  When they were all in the car,
Donna and Sheryl lit up cigarettes, took deep double pumps to get the
nicotine in their systems they had been missing for the past few hours, and
Donna said, "Where to?"  Then to their surprise, Patti pulled out her own
pack of Marlboros, lit up, did a double pump like Sheryl and Donna had done.

Patti said, "Whereever you guys are going.  I heard that Donna smoked and I
wanted to get to know her.  Sheryl, I'm surprised that you smoke too.  You
are so quiet and mousey, but that's neat.  I get lonely going home by myself
and wanted to find someone I could hang around with.  A friend who smokes.  I
can smoke at home, my mom actually was the one who taught me, but with no one
there after I do my homework, I get bored.  Sheryl, can I go to your place
and study with you?"

Sheryl said, "Study with me?  You are making straight A's now.  I don't think
I can help you."

Patti said, "Yes, you can.  We can study and smoke together and it will help
me to have some company."

So Patti was added to Donna's list of friends.

Patti was a small girl, only 4 feet 8 inches tall and weighed aboout 80
pounds, but she was a very dedicated smoker.  She was the first person Donna
had seen smoke two cigaretes at once.

The second day second day after school that Patti joined Sheryl and Donna,
Maxine was with them.

Donna and Maxine got in the front, and Sheryl and Patti got in the back.
Donna lit up, did her usual double pump, Sheryl did the same, and Patti took
out two Marlboros.  She lit the first one, did a deep double pump, lit the
second one, did the same, and then put both cigarettes in her mouth.  She
then took a cheek hollowing drag, inhaled without removing the cigarettes
from her mouth, took another long drag, inhaled again, and then a third drag
before removing the cigarettes from her mouth.  Then she opened her mouth, a
very thick cloud appeared in front of her lips, she inhaled about half into
her nostrils and half into her mouth.  Her shoulders rose, her chest
expanded, she closed her eyes for about five seconds and then exhaled a very
thick stream.

Maxine said, "Oh No! Not another one!"

The friendship between Patti and Donna grew and later in the school year
Patti helped Donna witha term paper which earned her an A.

Donna finished the school year and was offered two scholarships to different
state colleges, but she decided to go back to the city, live with her
grandmother, go to business college, and be close to John.  Her grandmother
did not smoke, but tolerated Donna's smoking in her home.

After two years Donna married John, they exchanged many smokey kisses and
lived happily ever after.
