ChongSu15, Part 2

(1) The author neither uses nor condones the use of cannabis, but figures by
the year 2600 there may be a good use of it.  (2)The author does not think of
ChongSu as being Chinese since by then there will be so much intermarrying of
the races that there will no longer be a distinction of races.  (3) The

Part 2

  One of the planets though technologically advanced had never encountered
the rapid oxydation process known as fire.  So the concept of fire, smoke,
and in particular the idea of taking the fumes of something burning into
their bodies was particularly peculiar and interesting to them.  

By 2500, all allergins had been bred out of the cannabis and mint products,
so that no one could be certified as allergic to them.  

In the mid 2500's a climatic change occurred which caused many people not to
leave their homes and many people of two full generations never saw the
outside of their living quarters.  With this a great apathy occurred and a
significant percent of the population actually starved to death because they
just would not eat or take the nourishment from the nourishment pills or
hyposprays that were available.  In 2570, the PIRKEP, TyPaGo3, a very
intelligent woman, caused legislation that would require that all the earth's
population leave their homes for mandatory excercise sessions at least once
weekly.  As part of the same law it was required that all persons over age 7
be certified in smoking.  As there was no money to be fined, punishment for
violating this law would be to work in the tobacco or cannabis fields for a
prescribed amount of time. 


In order for certification to take place and to insure that everyone was
learning the correct technique to inhale properly, schools were built.  In
the jubilee year of 2600, PIRKEP EsMaZa2 caused legislation that required all
persons on their seventh birthday to be enrolled in smoking school for a
period of one month.  

ChongSu15's parents, Edward and ChongSu14, had never tried to teach ChongSu15
to smoke because they knew she would learn at the school.  Edward liked his
cigars, made of the same ingredients as all other smokes, making them easy to
inhale, but with a wrapper grown in Cuba for flavor.  Half of Cuba was now
planted in tobacco and half in soybeans, with the crops being rotated each
year.  ChongSu14 liked her cigarettes, which she was never without.   (End of
