EPILOGUE

Sarah smoked twelve cigarettes that evening and drove to the supermarket to
buy more for her and all the other women. She received a strange look when
making her purchase from the cashier - she supposed it would seem odd for
someone to buy four cartons and ten individual packets of cigarettes, all
different brands - but she didn't care. In fact, all she was bothered about
was getting to her car and lighting her first ever cigarette she paid for
with her own money. It was to be the first of many; Sarah became at 25-a-day
smoker, and did not regret for one minute that Jenny won that wrestling
match. In fact, she thanked her daily for it.

Amanda also continued smoking, soon reaching the pace she set at University.
Her fears about how Tom would respond to her restarting were abated as soon
as he returned from his business trip; in fact, it was fair to say that his
wife's smoking actually reinvigorated their sex life. It turned out he had
never wanted Amanda to completely give up smoking and secretly hoped she
would resume after the kids were born. Not wanting to pressure her into
something he thought she did not want, he never raised the subject again.
However, upon her admission as soon as he walked through the front door of
their home that she was indeed smoking and loving it, he was the happiest man
on earth. He even occasionally joined in with a post-coital cigar while his
lovely wife smoked one cigarette after another in their bed. Life was perfect
for the two senior Davis's.

As for Jenny, she continued to see Davina even after her highly successful
modelling career came to an end fifteen years later. By this time she had
circled the world many times and become something of a celebrity herself. She
married Davina in a civil ceremony that all the family attended, and they
adopted two children, both girls. Davina continued to smoke her all-white
menthols while Jenny eventually settled on a particularly strong cigarette.
Of course, smoking and modelling went hand in hand, but even so Jenny was
somewhat of a legend in the inner circle of friends - she levelled out at
roughly 100 cigarettes per day, almost never being seen without a cigarette
in her hand. She and Davina lived long and prosperous lives, and nothing gave
them more pleasure than when their two children approached them many years
after this tale was written and asked, "Why do guys love smoking? How did you
start?" and Jenny responded, "Well, guys, let me tell you a story..."
