Nikki's Team

Part 3

   When the family finished eating Carol lit a cigarette.  Her sister Kim
pointed it out to her parents who explained the situation to her and her
younger sister Beth.  Carol liked the way she felt as she smoked.  


   "You're going to smoke in our bedroom?" Julie asked her.

   "I have to.  It's the rules of the study," she said.  "I have to smoke when
I get up tomorrow too."

   "At least it doesn't smell bad," Julie said.

   "I think your cigarettes are pretty," Kim said.  

   Carol took a drag and said, "They are colorful.  Tasty too."  She finished
smoking and the girls went to sleep.  The morning came and Carol woke up.  She
saw the pack of Nikki's on her nightstand.  She took one and started smoking
it.  It seemed to help her wake up.  The other girls woke, and they all got
ready for breakfast.  The family ate. Carol smoked afterward, and the girls
went off to school.  Carol took her Nikki's with her so she could smoke after
lunch.  Her morning classes concluded and Carol went outside for lunch.  She
ate and went across the street where a few girls were smoking.  She lit up and
enjoyed her cigarette.  The school day ended and Carol returned home.  Her
sisters were already doing their homework when she got there, and she started
hers.  Thirty minutes passed when she began feeling a slight gnawing inside.
She felt like having a cigarette.  She got one and lit it.  She took longer
drags than she did yesterday.  She felt good by the time she finished it and
went back to her homework.  

   "We've reviewed Carol's responses and are satisfied with them so far," the
company representative told Phil.  He handed Phil another folder to give to
her, and thanked him again.  Phil went home, greeted his family, and gave
Carol the folder.  That night, Carol smoked her required after dinner
cigarette and another a few hours later.  At the day's end, Carol got the form
from the folder. It had another pack of Nikki cigarettes inside.

Was anything said about your smoking?  My sister Kim said the cigarettes are
pretty.  Julie said they don't smell bad and thinks I look cool when I smoke.

Thoughts/Comments: So far, I like smoking my Nikki's.  I was able to
concentrate better when I had one during homework.

You are required to smoke after meals, right before going to sleep, and when
you wake.  Smoking at other times is permitted.  You will receive the next
form tomorrow.  Fill it out before your last cigarette.  If you fail to do so,
we reserve the right to cancel the contract.  Only you are to read these
forms.  Discuss them with no one.  Please sign your agreement and date this,
then seal it in the envelope and sign the seal.  If the envelope is tampered
with or others read these, we reserve the right to cancel the contract.

   Carol thought to herself.  This is great, I'm so happy mom and dad
suggested I do this.  She lit up and took a deep, satisfying puff.  I'm
getting money just to smoke!  I would have done this for free.  She smiled as
she exhaled.  

   "Why are you smiling?" Julie asked.

   "Because I like smoking.  It tastes really good, and makes me feel good,"
Carol told her.  She took another big drag that reinforced her statement.  

   "They sure do smell nice.  Enjoy yourself," Julie said.

   "Thanks, I will."  Julie did just that.  She finished it, inhaling deeply.
It felt so good that she had another before retiring.  The next day was
uneventful until she got home from school.  She had a tough day in class and
was somewhat stressed.  She found her homework difficult and was getting
frustrated.  She reached for her cigarettes and lit up.  She inhaled deeply
and held the smoke inside before exhaling and repeating the process.  "Ahh,
that feels better," she unconsciously said as she dragged again.
   
   "What do you mean by that?" Julie asked her.

   "I had a hard day today and this cigarette seems to help relieve my
stress."  Another drag followed.

   "I had a hard day too, Carol.  Maybe I should smoke to relax," Julie
laughed.

   "Funny, Julie," Carol said, taking another deep drag.  She had two more
cigarettes while finishing her homework and three more before bed.

Was anything said about your smoking?  My sister Julie joked that she should
smoke when I told her it relaxed me.

Thoughts/Comments: I really like these Nikki's.  I had no idea smoking could
be so enjoyable.  Thank you for choosing me for your project.
