Part 5


   "Mr. and Mrs. Morris, we are prepared to offer you a great opportunity.
Our results so far have exceeded expectations.  Your loyalty to us can help
make 'Nikki' a popular product.  Your cooperation in our two-phase program
will reward you handsomely.  Phase one requires you to allow all your children
to get to know our product.  Carol and Julie are already with us; all that is
left is Kim and Beth.  Let them help us by simply enjoying our product.  An
additional two hundred thousand dollars and all the Nikki's your family can
smoke is yours for agreeing."

   Sarah spoke.  "That's a lot of money, but Kim and Beth are so young.  I
don't know if they will be able to smoke.  Is there any way you can ease my
mind?"

   "Mrs. Morris, our 'Nikki's are designed to be smooth and easy to smoke.
Let me introduce you to two people who might be able to show you what I mean."
He picked up the phone and asked for Tina and Kelly to be sent in.  "These are
my daughters, Tina is seven and Kelly is six.  I wouldn't dream of asking you
to agree to anything I myself didn't believe in.  I've let them be initial
test cases for Nikki's.  Girls, go ahead and show these nice people."  Tina
and Kelly each produced a pack of Nikki's, lit up, and showed their abilities
and eagerness to smoke.  "As you can see, they have no trouble smoking and I
assure you, enjoy it."

   Sarah watched as the girls smoked.  They really did seem to like it.
"Kelly, how do you like smoking?"

   "It's good.  Daddy made me and Tina try it a few months ago.  It makes me
feel good inside to breathe it in."

   "I wasn't crazy about doing it, but then I tried it and I'm happy dad made
me.  Thanks again dad," Tina added, taking a drag.

   Seeing the girls enjoying themselves made Sarah remember when she used to
smoke.  She recalled the way she loved it.  Recently, she had watched Carol
smoke almost with jealousy.  These girls were happy.  Kim and Beth could also
be happy.  It took a few minutes of talking it over with Phil before they
agreed to the deal.  The company's rep gave them a pack of instructions to
give to Carol, as well as a check for one hundred thousand dollars.  He
promised the balance after Beth and Kim joined the team.  On the way home,
Sarah had Phil stop at a convenience store.  She went in and returned with a
carton of Misty 120s, her old brand.  "Phil, since our girls will all be
smoking soon, I've decided to start again.  It's been hard enough watching
Carol and I think I'd go nuts watching all of them without smoking myself.  I
hope you're not upset with me."

   "Not at all Sarah.  I figured that's why you wanted me to stop.  What's one
more smoker in the house anyway?  I love you.  If you want to smoke again, who
am I to say no?"  The sudden development in his underwear helped make up his
mind.  When they got home, Beth and Kim were already asleep.  "Sarah, talk to
Carol and Julie and I'll meet you upstairs when you're done."  He kissed his
wife and went to their room to wait for her.

   Sarah sat with the girls.  "Carol, Julie, I've got some news for you.  Your
father and I have agreed to allow your sisters to join the team.   Here's a
package for you Carol.  I got a package for me also."  She took out a pack of
Misty 120s.  She packed them, opened them and took one out.  She used her
'Nikki' lighter and inhaled for the first time in seventeen years.  She was
home again.  She sighed and took another puff.  "Join me."  She handed a Nikki
from the pack on the table and gave it to Julie.  Julie put it in her mouth as
she lit her.  Carol lit up for herself.  "I love you girls so much.  I'm happy
for all of you."  She hugged them and went upstairs, exhaling along the way.
She met Phil in bed.  They made love with a vigor they hadn't had in years.
Sarah's smoking rekindled Phil's desire for his beautiful wife.  She responded
passionately to his enthusiasm.

   Julie took a drag as her mother went upstairs.  She loved her parents.
"What's in the box Carol?"

   Carol opened it.  She read the letter.

Carol,

Both you and Julie are free to help your sisters to experience the joy of
Nikki's along with you.  Read the letter marked '2' when you have done so.
Give a Nikki lighter to Julie now and to your other sisters when they start.
As an incentive to you, we will give you and your sister one thousand dollars
for your help.  Please inform her of her roll and reward.  Thank you both for
your help to this point as members of the Nikki team.

   "Julie, there's a lighter for you," Carol said, handing her one.  "We get a
grand each when we get Beth and Kim to smoke."  The girls inhaled and Carol
went on, "It will be nice to have them smoke with us.  I still can't believe
they pay us for this."

   "I can't believe mom is smoking too," Julie said, taking a deep drag.  "She
knows a good thing just like we do.  Can we get Beth and Kim started tonight?"

   "They are probably asleep now.  We'll do it tomorrow," Carol answered.
