Tommy kept a tight lid on his closet smoking while he waited for summer
vacation.  Margie told him that he would probably start smoking more once he
didn't have to go to school.  She was right.  During his first week at home,
his habit increased from 1 pack to two packs a day.

It took some time, but Margie grew accustomed to seeing her young husband
smoke.  As a matter of fact, she enjoyed having a smoking buddy and found her
self-wishing he'd take his habit public.  They talked about telling his
parents and she did every thing possible to build up his confidence.

Tommy had come close to telling his mother several times but in the end, he
never had the courage to follow through.  Margie told him not to worry about
it that he'd know when the time was right to tell her.

The idea of smoking in front of his mother actually excited him.  His mother
had made such a big deal about never smoking when he was younger.  She told
him it was bad and that he wouldn't like it.  She told him that it would make
him a bad person.  Look at me Mom, he thought to him self as drilled his older

but Margie assured him that she'd get over it.

Margie and Tommy were too far lost in the act of sucking and smoking to hear
the front door push open.  They didn't see Tommy's mom standing in the doorway
gawking in disbelief.

Connie watched in silent horror as smoke billowed from her 14 year old son's
nostrils.  Margie was putting a lot of effort in to sucking her son off, a lot
more effort than Connie ever exerted on her husband.  The site was as
beautiful as it was disgusting. She wanted to scream, but the look on her
son's face told her stay quiet.  She remained ever so still as Tommy's face

and closed the door behind her.

come.  "Should we call her?" asked Tommy.

"I think this is something we should do in person," said Margie.

Connie was beside her self with fraught as she drove the distance to her home.

"So what?" said Robert when Connie told him what she had seen.  "Margie has

"But what about the smoking?" asked Connie?  "He's only 14 and you know she
put him up to it."

The phone rang and Robert answered it.  His voice sounded cautious.  "We'll
see you when you get here," he said.  And then he hung up.  "That was Margie.
She and Tommy are coming over."
