Part 6

Suzie looked out the window of the MD80 as it crossed the country side. She 
reflected about the weeks events and sighed heavily. She was unsure of what 
she and Johns' future would be. Would she be able to forgive his obvious 
attempt at an affair? How would they broach the subject of their smoking? 
How could she tell John about her lesbian affair with Janice? So many 
questions, and no where to smoke...

The plane touched down in Missoula as scheduled. The baggage claim was 
notoriously slow and Suzie used this time to have a needed cigarette. 
Sitting on the same bench when she had been dropped off by John, she drew 
methodically at the cigarette. When she was finished, she claimed her 
luggage and hailed a cab.

The cabbie tossed her luggage into the trunk as Suzie slipped into the 
backseat. She ignored the No Smoking sign and lit a fresh Marlboro Light. 
The cabbie hopped in and noticed her smoking immediately. "Hey, cant you 
read... No Smoking," he said pointing to the sign.

"There's an extra $10 tip for you if you just shut up and drive." she said 
flattly.

"Sounds good," he agreed, "Where to?"

"Comfort Inn, please.." she said through an exhale.

He nodded and kept his mouth shut the remainder of the drive.


Suzie the key into the door and turned the handle. She placed her bags down 
and lay on the bed. She checked her watch. It was 6:10. John would be there 
in just over an hour. Suzie decided to have one more cigarette, and then 
shower and freshen up.

7:40
Suzie sat on the edge of the bed drawing and nervously checked her watch. 
She was dressed in a new black silk teddy she had bought the previous day in 
the Scottsdale mall.  Her nerves were shot and even the calming effects of 
the nicotine didn't help. Her body ached for some type of alcohol.

7:55
Suzie paced the small room, a constant cloud of smoke swirling behind her.

8:25
Suzie sat at the small desk and waited for the Yahoo Messenger to log her 
in. John's smiley face was yellow. She double clicked his name and typed a 
simple, short message.
	Thank you for not showing up...

She logged off before he could reply, and quickly gathered her things 
together. She called the front desk to call a cab for her. Suzie put her 
long rain coat over the teddy and carried her things to the lobby.


The cab drove off as Suzie walked up the sidewalk to the front door. She lay 
her things on the front stoop and dug in her purse. She pulled a Marlboro 
Light 100 from her purse and lit it, drawing deeply. She rang the doorbell 
and stepped back a few steps. Suzie unbuttoned her coat, allowing it hang 
open, exposing the teddy and the rest of her bare body. She heard Johns foot 
steps approach. As the front door swung open, Suzie placed the filter in her 
mouth and drew seductively.

John stood in the doorway, mouth open, not comprehending what he was seeing. 
Suzie removed the cigarette and french inhaled for him. She stepped forward 
and grabbed John from behind the neck, pulling his gaping lips to hers. She 
bathed his mouth with her smoke, and he eagerly inhaled as their tongues 
danced inside their mouths. With her free hand, she reached down and grabbed 
Johns cock. It was quickly growing as was Suzie's wetness. John finally 
broke the kiss and pushed back slightly.

Suzie took the opportunity to draw again.

"Suzie... what the fu..."

Suzie placed a finger on his lips, interrupting him. "We have all night to 
talk, and believe me, it'll take all night to sort through all of this..." 
She paused to draw again. "Right now, I want you. I want you to take me 
inside and make love to me right inside the door. And then I want you to 
take me in the kitchen, and then in the living room, and then in the 
bedroom. And ONLY then will I explain, and you will explain too. And then 
we'll watch the sun come up together. And then we'll both call in sick and 
spend the rest of the day in bed making crazy love to each other..."

Tears were forming in her eyes and John reached forward and brushed one 
away. She took his hand and kissed it tenderly. John stood not knowing what 
was happening, but he was happy. He took Suzie by the hand and pulled her 
inside and did as she asked.


** Epilogue

John and Suzie's sex that night was the best it had ever been. Neither was 
without a cigarette for the entire four hours. They lay in their bed, 
exhausted, sharing one of her Marlboro Reds  Suzie decided to the let the 
whole "John/Janice" thing slide. His not showing was proof enough that he 
was committed to their marriage. Bringing that up would open a door she 
didn't want to enter. They both talked openly about their smoking... when 
they started and why they felt they couldn't be "out". So many sorry's were 
said that they both lost count.

Suzie vowed to talk to her supervisor when she returned to work about 
switching to a non-travel position. They both vowed that there would be no 
secrets any longer and their lines of communication would be wide open.

Suzie vowed to herself to keep she and Janice's secret just that. After all, 
she wouldn't dream of breaking "The Code of the Road".

Frank on the other hand had no respect for "The Code", and broke it each and 
every chance he got...
