"A little later...Part 2" (`Early-' Part 2) by love_2_smoke@hotmail.com (DISCLAIMER: There is no explicit sex or gratuitous use of profanity or violence in this story. However, it may be offensive to some readers in the sense that this story describes what may be considered the extreme smoking habit of a partially fictional minor.) Mike and Sabrina were down the hall, talking and laughing, as Jenny continued to watch TV-and smoke. Jenny was blushing. She was still thinking of what Mike had said just a moment before. `You look like you've been smoking forever, Jenny,' he had said. It wasn't so much what he had said, as how he had said it though. He had smiled and acted like he was really impressed. Normally, Jenny didn't think of her smoking as something `cool' or something that made her more mature, but she sure didn't mind Mike talking that way about it. It made her feel all shivery inside, it was weird. Perhaps it wouldn't have been too outrageous to say that she was turned on by it. As much as a 12 year old could be turned on. After all, Jenny's idea of a boyfriend and romance was a boy who would play with her in the sense that they would climb on the jungle gym at the park-and maybe he'd even hold her hand. About ten minutes later, Mike and Sabrina came back down the hall. Sabrina sat down next to Jenny and lit up another cigarette as Jenny crushed one out. Mike sat down on the floor in front of Sabrina. Jenny was into her fifth pack of the day. Her throat was kind of raw from all the cigarettes. She didn't mind though. Some people liked the way they felt sore after exercising like Jenny liked the raw feeling and semi-dizziness she felt after a lot of smoking. She pulled out another cigarette and lit up. Jenny took a double-pump off of the cigarette and was letting the smoke escape slowly from her nose while trimming the ash, when she noticed that Mike was watching her. He wasn't staring but he was kind of half way looking at her sideways. She blushed again and found herself looking down at her lap. He didn't seem to notice that she had noticed his watching though and his attention was caught again as the commercials ended and the show came back on. "So, you ready to go shopping?," Sabrina asked, bringing Jenny's attention back up out of her lap. "Right now?" "No, goofball, tomorrow. New clothes, that sort of thing?," Sabrina said, smiling. "Oh, yeah," Jenny took a drag, "I'm ready." "Good. We're gonna' get an early start, be at the mall when it opens." "Okay, which mall are we going to?" "Well, we'll go to Kitsap Mall first, see what we can find there and then maybe we'll take a trip south and see what we can find in Tacoma. How's that sound?" "Fine." "I'm glad the plan has your acceptance," Sabrina said with a smirk, taking a drag off of her cigarette. Jenny smiled and stuck out her tongue at Sabrina. About 10, Sabrina began to usher Jenny off to bed. "Time for bed there, missy," she said, starting the ball rolling. "I'm not tired though," Jenny protested, cigarette bouncing up and down in between her lips, with the words. "I'm gonna' go to bed in a bit too. I just have to clean up the dishes from our pre-Mike arrival dinner. So, it's not like I'm treating you any different than I'm treating myself," Sabrina paused for effect, "-of course, you could stay up, if you want to do the dishes." Jenny's demeanor changed immediately. "No, that's okay. I'll go to bed." "That's what I thought." Mike shook his head. "Tough choice, huh? Follow the orders of Master Sabrina or do hard labor. I think I'd choose bed too," Mike said with a smile. "Yeah, I think that's the better choice too," Jenny said. "You two teaming up on me now?" Mike changed to an obviously fake, but innocent expression, moving to stand next to Jenny. "No, we're not teaming up on you, are we Jenny?," Mike said, putting his hands on Jenny's shoulders. Jenny shook her head rapidly. Mike took his hands off her shoulders and moved toward the kitchen, not noticing Jenny's starstruck expression. "Hit the sack," Sabrina said, pointing toward the extra bedroom, play-acting like some sort of Queen, "and you," she said, pointing at Mike now, "get to help with the dishes." "I figured," he said, turning and giving a wink to Jenny. Jenny turned and went down the hallway. She took three drags in a row. When Mike had put his hands on her shoulders, she had went tingly all over. The door to Sabrina's room was shut. Jenny had opened up her door after she'd heard her and Mike go in there. It had been about a half an hour since Jenny had supposedly `hit the sack'. She sat in the middle of the doorway indian style, ashtray in front of her, lights out, and stared at the doorway to Sabrina's room. The tip of her cigarette glowed in the darkness every few seconds. Jenny was trying to imagine what the two of them were doing in there. In order to cut down on any noise, Jenny lit her next two cigarettes in turn from the one before. About a half an hour later, bored with staring at the door and no further into figuring out what they were doing, Jenny gathered the ashtray, her cigarettes, and herself and went to bed, closing the door softly behind her. The next morning Jenny awoke to the sound of a light knock on the bedroom door. "Time to get up," Sabrina said through the door. Jenny reached over for her cigarettes and lighter. "Okay," Jenny replied. She sat up and began to cough and hack. This was nothing new. She'd been doing this for over two years. Once she got past her morning coughing fit, Jenny lit up a VM 120 and took a double pump. She stood up and stretched, taking a drag as she did. After having a bowl of cereal with Sabrina and Mike, Jenny took a shower. As usual she smoked up until she actually got into the shower, leaving half a cigarette smouldering in the ashtray. She washed her shoulder length hair, brushed her teeth in the shower, and washed herself off. She got out, dried off, and picked up the quarter of the same cigarette that was left and took a drag. Jenny started to get dressed and then she heard noises through the wall to Sabrina's room. Sabrina was moaning. Jenny didn't quite know what to make of it. She heard Mike say something, then both of them were making grunting noises. Jenny thought about it for a moment and guessed she did know what to make of it, after all. Jenny emerged from the bathroom a few minutes later with her hair pulled back into a pony tail, held together by a `scrunchie'. Sabrina and Mike sat side by side on the couch. Sabrina was smoking and running her free hand through Mike's hair. Mike was watching TV. "I'm ready," Jenny said, lighting up again. Sabrina looked over at her, "Well, I guess I'd better get ready then." Jenny nodded. Sabrina stood up, then bent back down, and kissed Mike on the cheek. "I'm gonna' take a shower, kay'?" "Want me to join you?," Mike asked. Sabrina looked pleasantly shocked, looked over at Jenny, then back at Mike. She gave him a playfully disapproving look. "No, I can handle it, thanks. You can keep Jenny company." "I can do that." "I won't be long." "Sure," Mike said. Sabrina shook her head and went into the bathroom. Jenny sat down on the couch, her by one arm of it and Mike by the other. He was watching the news. She double-pumped. "I'm waiting for the sports," he said, looking at her sympathetically, as if she was suffering by having to watch the news. "That's okay. I have to watch the news and read the paper everyday. It's part of my homeschooling," exhale. He seemed surprised. "You homeschool, huh?" "Yeah," Jenny took a drag. "Why?" Jenny smiled ashamedly. "Cause' of my smoking," exhale, drag. Mike looked confused now. "I don't get it." Jenny exhaled again and took another long drag off of the cigarette in her hand. She left it in between her lips and continued. "I wasn't doing too well in school because of my smoking. I smoke a lot and I, uh, well, I just couldn't go to school because of it," Jenny said, cigarette accentuating her words. "Did you get in trouble?" "Not really. A couple of times I didn't come back from recess on time and I got in trouble for that and I got caught smoking in the bathroom once but my mom took care of that," drag. "Your mom knows you smoke?" Jenny was surprised that he thought otherwise. "Yeah," exhale, double-pump. "I thought it was just Sabrina letting you smoke." "Nope, I've been smoking for six years. I started when I was six," Jenny exhaled smoke with her words, and took another drag. "Wow." "My mom was kinda' upset at first but she doesn't bother me too much about it now. Except when I smoke a lot," a piece of ash falls onto the couch. Jenny brushes it away. "A lot?" "More than two packs a day," exhale, drag. "Do you do that a lot?" The same ashamed smile from moments earlier appeared on Jenny's face, smoke trickled slowly from her nostrils as she paused for a moment. "Sometimes." "How often is sometimes?" "When I can," Jenny said quietly, taking another drag. Mike smiled. "You really like to smoke, huh?" "Oh, yeah," exhale, "I smoke more than my mom sometimes," double-pump, "I smoke more than Sabrina." "Aren't you worried about getting sick from it?" "You mean, like, cancer?," Jenny said, smoke following the words as it so often did. "Yeah." "I have to read a lot for school and I know that smoking is bad for me, I'm not gonna' stop though," drag. "So you know that it's bad for ya' but you do it anyway." "Yep," Jenny said, taking a really long drag, inhaling, and taking another long drag on top of the first. She tilted her head toward the ceiling and slowly exhaled. Mike paused, seeming to work on putting his words together right. "I'm not trying to get fresh with you Jenny, but you're a pretty girl and I think the way you smoke is very attractive. You're gonna' have a lot of guys chasing after you when it you get older," Mike said, the words seeming to come against his will. "Oh, uh, thanks," Jenny said, blushing. "I didn't mean to embarrass you." "No, you didn't," drag. "You're blushing though." "I'm not embarrassed though," exhale. "Why are you blushing then?" It was Jenny's turn to pause for a thought. "I, uh, I don't know how to say it. I'm not used to people saying nice things about my smoking." "Oh, I wouldn't expect it from many people. For a lot of people it's not cool to smoke anymore. That doesn't make it any less attractive to people who like it though. Jenny looked down at her lap. "Oops, what did I say? Are you crying?" Jenny looked up. "No, I just felt kind of funny. Uh, I-" "What?," Mike said, trying not to get any further into what had become touchy territory it seemed. "Thank you." "For what?" "For what you said." He shrugged. "No problem."
