A Mother and Her Twins

CHAPTER 10

Jim Robbins had been out of the country on business for the last 2 months,
and nobody had given much thought to how he might react to find his ex-wife
and eldest daughter dating women, and all three of them smoking. When he
called and asked when the twins could come over and see them, it set off a
panic with Kate and Anne, terrified what he might think of them.

"Mum, you have to help us!" Anne said between mouthfuls of smoke. "How can we
tell dad we smoke?"

"And that I'm gay?" piped in Kate. 

"Okay, okay, girls, would it help if I had a chat with him?"

"Would you, mum, that would be great!" the twins chanted in unison.

Beth phoned Jim and arranged to meet him halfway between their houses at the
Embassy Hotel bar the following evening after work. She asked Jim if she
could bring her new partner along for moral support, and Jim agreed.

The following evening, Beth and Ellie arrived early and ordered themselves a
drink. After about five minutes, Beth received a call from the office; it
turned out there was a problem with one of the accounts that required her to
deal with it over the phone. She asked Ellie if it was okay if she waited for
Jim on her own, and she would wrap her call up as quickly as she could. Ellie
agreed, and Beth disappeared to a quiet corner to take the call. Ellie lit up
a cigarette and, as she always did in public, put on a show for anyone taking
the time to glance over at her. Smoke rings, nostril exhales, French inhales,
you name it, she was doing it. It was only after she had extinguished her
cigarette that she noticed a familiar looking gentleman staring at her. It
had been over a year since she had last seen Jim, but she recognized him
immediately.

"Jim, it's me, Ellie. Remember I met you and Beth at one of our staff night
outs?"

Jim looked confused "Ellie, hi, how are you? I was just looking for Beth.
Have you seen her?"

Ellie now realised that when Beth had arranged to meet Jim here, she had not
pointed out that her companion would be female. "Who do you think I came here
with, Jim?"

Jim was still standing a few feet away from Ellie's table, looking confused
and a little flustered. As he shuffled towards her table, he said, "Beth told
me she was bringing her new partner. I just expected that to be a man. Are
you telling me...?"

"That I'm Beth's partner. Yes, and her lover. Beth and I are an item." It was
then that Ellie realized why Jim had shuffled rather than walked over to her
table: he had a raging hard-on! Ellie backtracked in her mind; what could
have turned him on so much? That his ex-wife was now a lesbian? No, she was
convinced she never told him that until after he came over. That could only
mean one thing...

It was just then that Beth returned to the table and saw Jim talking to
Ellie. "Hi Jim!" she exclaimed cheerily, "How are you?" Beth and Jim
exchanged a peck on each cheek before Beth took her seat.

"I'm fine. Ellie just told me you're gay," Jim said in a slightly stunned,
monotone voice, as if he were trying to process what he had just heard.

"That's right, Jim," Beth said, surprised that Ellie had broken the news so
early in the conversation. "Is that going to be a problem?"

"No, no problem," said Jim. "Can I get you ladies a drink?"

"Yes, two glasses of red wine please," said Ellie, "and we're just heading
off to the toilet."

"But I don't need -," Beth started to say, before Ellie shushed her and
marched to the ladies room.

"What's going on?" asked Beth once they were safely behind closed doors. "Why
did you tell Jim I was gay before I had a chance to?"

"Sorry about that, it just came out in the conversation. Anyway, that's not
important right now. I think the twins' dilemma is going to be easier to sort
than we first thought," Ellie said mysteriously.

"What do you mean?" asked Beth.

"Well, while you were on the phone, I had a cigarette. As I was finishing it,
I noticed a man staring at me. It was Jim!"

"How is that going to solve the twins' problems?" asked Beth, confused.

"Well, you see, when Jim came over to the table afterwards, I noticed he had
enjoyed my performance a little too much; he had a very large, very
noticeable, erection. Beth, I think Jim has the fetish."

"Fetish? What fetish?" asked Beth, feeling like this conversation was getting
away from her.

"The smoking fetish, Beth. Jim loves to see attractive women smoke. Ask Anne
or Gio about it when you get home; I think they both have it too!"

"Really?" asked Beth. "You mean it turns Jim on to watch you smoke?"

"Not just me, Beth. Any beautiful smoking female. Listen, I have a plan..."
and with that, Ellie explained how they were going to make this a night to
remember for Jim.
